Abstract

This article presents a review of the differential diagnosis and pathophysiology of benign and malignant, unilateral breast edema, including mammary, nonmammary, and systemic causes. Abnormal imaging findings related to unilateral breast edema have been described using multiple imaging modalities and a case-based approach. Accurate diagnosis of unilateral breast edema involves assessment of the clinical history, physical examination, and imaging studies.
