Abstract

A multifunctional transmission/reflection element with two transmission bands is proposed in this paper by using the technique of back loaded RF circuits. It consists of a receiving tightly coupled dipole antenna (TCDA) element, a bandstop filter, and a transmitting TCDA element. The reflection band and two transmission bands are achieved by the bandstop filter. By changing the length of the transmission lines at the input and output of the bandstop filter, both the reflection band and the transmission bands can reach the phase variation of 360 degrees. Besides, the transmission bands and reflection band have a good out-of-band suppression level and can be easily tuned by changing the parameters of the bandstop filter.
