Abstract
A reflection type grating lens (RGL)which has four functions has been developed for the CD optical head ; a beam splitting, focusing and tracking error detection, and reflection. An optical head was constructed with the RGL. The experimental results show that the RGL has theoretical performance and CD signal reconstruction was performed with the jitter of 22ns.
