Abstract

The recent election campaign covered the usual gamut of issues, combining a familiar mixture of fact and prejudice. Two issues with an urban flavour received more than passing notice: child poverty and the so called multifunction polis. Neither would appear to be particularly relevant to an ageing population, in fact quite the opposite, given the implications of youth and technological dexterity. However, both are worth comment in the context of this forum.
