Abstract

Quality Indicators (QIs) are an important part of Long-Term Care Quality improvement initiatives and 1 of 3 domains of the overall star rating developed by Centers for Medicare/Medicaid (CMS). At the Corporal Michael J Cresencz Veterans Affairs Community Living Center (CLC), a 120-bed Long-Term Care institution in Philadelphia, PA, we were scored a 1-star facility on CMS standardized quality indicators. The administrative and clinical teams felt we were better than this and undertook an initiative to study and hopefully improve the indicators.
