Abstract

A multichannel filter is demonstrated theoretically based on a one-dimensional photonic crystal heterostructure containing single-negative materials. The filtering properties of the photonic crystal filter, including the channel number and frequency, can be tailored by adjusting the structure period or the layer thickness. The angular response of the filter and the influences of the loss of the single-negative materials on the filtering properties are analyzed.
