Abstract

A multicentre noncomparative study of fluconazole in the treatment of systemic fungal infections was carried out in China in order to investigate the safety and efficacy of the drug. The results from five centres show that fluconazole is safe and convenient both intravenously and orally for systemic fungal infections such as candidosis and cryptococcosis. Good results were also obtained in patients with cryptococcal meningitis and there were encouraging results from the treatment of patients with chromoblastomycosis and fusariosis cutis.
