Abstract
AbstractThis paper presents the design details of a multi‐functional three‐phase four‐wire power conditioner. The proposed power conditioner can compensate the reactive power, harmonic current, unbalanced power, and zero‐sequence current of the load with a capacity‐limitation manner. It can also simultaneously regulate multiple load voltages based on the prescribed Power–Voltage characteristic of distinct loads for real‐time energy saving. The theoretical analysis and detailed design procedure of the controllers performing various functions are presented. A 6‐kVA experimental system with two induction motors and various nonlinear loads is implemented for the related studies and the results are presented in this paper. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control scheme are confirmed through measured results obtained from practical hardware experiments. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
