Abstract

We design and demonstrate a multi-functional plasmonic metasurface. Theoretical analyses and numerical simulations are performed and they agree well with each other. The metasurface contains gold bars aligned in different directions, a gold ground plane and a silica spacer. These anisotropic building blocks produce a phase gradient and their responses vary with the handedness of the circular polarization. The metasurface can achieve anomalous reflection and optical rotation simultaneously. The rotation angle is controllable and these optical features remain well in different incident conditions.
