Abstract

A multi-channel isolated stimulator with an isolated output unit is described for electrophysiological use. The respective channels of the stimulator are built in modules and may be easily inter-connected mechanically and electrically to provide pulse trains of varying forms, frequencies and polarity. The output of the stimulator may be connected to units for saw-tooth wave forms, constant current output, automatic micro-electrode shift and delivery of small volumes of gases and liquids. The equipment has also been used for analysing unit activity.
