Abstract

In recent years, distributed generation is emerging as a new alternative for power generation at a smaller but distributed scale. The output of distributed generators (DGs) mainly depends on weather condition. On the other hand, the electric utility industry worldwide has been facing pressure to be deregulated. The power flow in the electric power market will uncertainly vary with several power transactions. Therefore, complex power flow by DGs or transactions will cause the voltage deviation. In this paper, to avoid these undesirable phenomena we propose a new multi-agent method for cooperative voltage control. The simulation results show that the proposed multi-agent method performs better than a conventional control method.
