Abstract

A study of oxygen chemisorption on silver, using the MS Xα SCF method, shows that for a cluster of four silver atoms, the adsorbed moleculer oxygen dissociates and that for a single silver atom, the oxygen may remain in the form of diatomic oxygen, but there is no indication of chemisorption.
