Abstract

Desorption energy and the frequency factor for the systems CO on Ag(110) and Pt(111) have been measured by means of molecular beam relaxation spectroscopy. The initial sticking coefficients of CO have been derived from the bimodal angular distributions of scattered CO observed at both surfaces. The clean surfaces have been characterized by studying the scattering of He, Ne and Ar.
