Abstract

A new moire imaging technique is proposed that expands the possibilities of interference methods for studying vortex flame structures. Moire analogs of the interference patterns of a flame are obtained, which correspond to the interferometer adjustment to the fringes of finite and infinite widths. It is found that the moire analogs are identical to the original interference patterns. The main advantages of the proposed moire technique are the low cost of the experiment and the possibility of readjusting a current interference pattern for the same nonstationary optical inhomogeneity.
