Abstract

The paper describes Net Condition/Event systems (NCES), a formalism for the modular and compositional design of large manufacturing systems. The state space explosion problem usually prohibits state space analysis of such systems. However, modular representations of large reachability graphs using Kronecker algebra have been successfully applied in the area of stochastic Petri nets. The paper shows how these representations can be employed for NCES models as well and illustrates this by performing Kronecker based model checking on an NCES example model.
