Abstract
There are numerous numbers of orchids in Thailand's forest. Searching for orchids by some characteristics is extremely difficult. This research aims to develop the search engine via web application which can search for orchids in Thailand efficiently. In the proposed search engine, the characteristic of each orchid will be given by experts and all information will be collected in the knowledge base of the engine. Each characteristic of orchid will be collected in each vector. The related vectors will be combined to be the representative of each orchid chromosome by the greedy method and stored in the chromosome database. Users can use the proposed search engine by keyword or from characteristics of the orchid which is/are automatically produced by the system. This search engine is tested on 20 orchids by 50 users. It found that the proposed search engine works effectively.
