Abstract

Cemented implant-supported restorations have advantages relative to those which are screw retained, including greater passivity of fit and better esthetics.1 However, the easier retrievability of a screw-retained restoration is clinically useful should an abutment screw become loose. Abutment loosening of a cemented implant crown usually necessitates estimating the location of the abutment screw access opening, and accessing the screw by drilling through the crown. Several articles have been written describing methods for indicating the location of the abutment screw, either prior to or after the restoration has been cemented.
