Abstract

A modified selective medium (MGSP) was developed for the detection of Pseudomonas species associated with the spoilage of dairy products. The composition of sodium glutamate, starch, phenol red (GSP) Pseudomonas/ Aeromonas selective agar was altered by the addition of Irgasan DP 300 (2,4,4′-trichloro-2′-hydroxy diphenyl ether) to improve its selectivity for Pseudomonads.
