Abstract

An experimental investigation is carried out to determine the pulsatile flow properties of polymeric liquids in a straight tube of circular cross-section. Barnes et al1 have essentially used an apparatus in which the mean pressure gradient is controlled and the pulsed pressure amplitude and mean flow rate is measured. In the specially constructed apparatus described in this paper, the mean flow rate is controlled and the pulsed flow rate and mean pressure gradient is measured.
