Es wird eine Methode beschrieben, um festzustellen, ob ein Rostpilz homo- oder heterothallisch ist. Hiefur wird der Pilz auf einem geeigneten Medium in einer Petri-Schale gezuchtet. Die Vor- und Nachteile dieser Methode werden erortert.
