Abstract

AbstractA modified locally conformal finite‐difference time‐domain method (MLC‐FDTD) is presented in this paper, which is used to analyze broadwall radiating slots in a finite wall thickness waveguide, including the longitudinal slot and the inclined slot. In this paper, we make a direct analysis of the bulletheaded slots using MLC‐FDTD, and give the transformation errors of two kinds of equivalent methods frequently employed in the engineering design; the equal‐area and the equal‐perimeter transformations from the squareheaded slot to bulletheaded slot. The results show that the equal‐area transformation is more accurate. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
