Abstract

AbstractThe deactivation behavior of excited molecules and impurities in solids is analyzed under consideration of a long‐range excitation energy transfer based on dipole‐dipole interaction between donors and acceptors. Under the condition of inhomogeneous spatial distribution and active behavior of the acceptors a time evolution formula is derived, which essentially differs from Förster's original relation [2]. The results are discussed for physically representative values of concentration and medium parameters.
