Abstract

A metal polyphenol compound Fe-TA (TA is tannin) was applied for surface modification to improve the selective adsorption capacity of UiO-67 on cationic dyes. The modified material UiO-67@Fe-TA, which named UFT-X, exhibited significantly selective adsorption of cationic dye. Then the Freundlich isotherm model and quasi second-order kinetics model were employed to characterize the adsorption of UiO-67@Fe-TA, and the maximum adsorption quantity was 1415.56 mg/g. Furthermore, the adsorption efficiency remained above 80% after 6 cycles. The research provided a strategy of materials design and modification for selective adsorption on mixed dyes.
