Abstract

The problem of improving planning and management has acquired decisive importance for increasing the effectiveness of social production. This is evidenced, in particular, by the attention that was devoted to this problem at the Twenty-Fourth Congress of the CPSU. It can be resolved only on the basis of modern scientific and technical attainments: mathematical model building of processes and of the functioning of the economy and its individual elements; the use in planning and information processing of computers and other technical means integrated into automated control systems all the way up to the national level.
