Abstract

Abstract This paper presents an integrated software tool environment and its proposed methodology for the operational support of the Local Authority, in order to allow impacts analysis of transport measures in terms of network energy consumptions and pollutant emissions. It is based upon the work carried out by the SAVE-SLAM/E.E.C. Project. Firstly, the background of SLAM project is given, describing the main critical aspects and needs of environmental and traffic network management. The central section defines a methodology to support the technicians to recognize the traffic asset firstly and then the decision makers in the evaluation of some interventions on urban transport infrastructures or technological systems. Therefore, the role of the different models and their interactions with the transport telematics services currently active on the Florence network is presented and discussed. Finally, the procedure for calculating the traffic energy impacts is described and information is provided on the test case carried out for the evaluation of a dedicated Bus corridor in Florence.
