Abstract

A model has been developed to predict average void-fractions in horizontal and vertical two-phase flow based on a single flow parameter K and the slip velocity. The model is based on the assumptions that the radial distributions of liquid velocity and void-fraction can be represented by parabolic-type equations and that the local slip velocity is constant. The main advantage of the model is that it accounts for the effect of buoyancy and can differentiate between upward and downward flow.
