Abstract

The cloud based experiment framework for computer-based education is the most popular teaching method in universities. Different cloud based learning frameworks cannot efficiently utilize the required resources provided by the cloud providers. This work aims to improve Quality of Service (QoS) in a Virtual lab cloud based framework. The proposed work restricts the virtual lab framework users to use computing resources appropriately. As a result of which the framework will improve its QoS in terms of response time and speed up. The proposed framework selects the exact and suitable resource for the user. It is based on an existing virtual lab framework lacking QoS which is developed based on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). Parameters like speed up, throughput, latency, and response time are kept into consideration to improve QoS in the existing Virtual lab framework for a Cloud IaaS. The major finding illustrates that cloud based learning frameworks based on IaaS lags performance. The main cause is inefficient usage of Cloud resources of users' application and the lack of service level assurance provided by the cloud provider. For instance, the user requests hardware service to complete some task on rental basis, but the user doesn't get what he is supposed to get.
