Abstract

A method for computing absorbed dose due to ionizing 60Co radiation in finite two-dimensional absorbers is presented in which only parameters describing the geometry of the source-target configuration are used as input. The solution of the model is shown to be the limit of a monotone sequence. Application to radiation dosimetry for radiotherapy treatment planning is pointed out.
