Abstract
The Curie temperature of (FexNi1−x)75B15Si10 amorphous alloys has been determined from ac susceptibility measurements for x<0.30, and analyzed using Kouvel’s model. The experimental data on Tc vs. x can be explained reasonably well by this model. The change in Tc due to annealing (5 min.) is also studied in (FexNi1−x)75B15Si10 and Fe16Ni59(B1−ySiy)25 amorphous alloys. The change in Tc after annealing appears to be due to the increased compositional short range order among the Fe and Ni atoms rather than the metalloids.
