Abstract

Model predictive control (MPC) has been widely used in grid-connected battery energy storage system. This paper addresses model power predictive control in T-type three-level power conversion system. A model predictive control algorithm based on T-type three-level converter is proposed. Compared to traditional neutral point clamped (NPC) three-level converter, T-type three-level converter suffers no output phase voltage jump limitation thus more outstanding performance by MPC can be achieved. This paper describes the model of T-type three-level converter as well as the principle of model predictive control algorithm. Moreover, a geometrical analysis method has been used to demonstrate that the performance of T-type converter is superior to NPC converter. The simulation results verify the feasibility of former analysis.
