Abstract

In this article a model similar to the “snow-plough” model is examined. Provided that efficient acceleration takes place only in the front of the accelerated gas, where a relatively thin current sheet flows, the dependence of path and velocity on time, the distribution of gas density and the energy transferred into the integral energy of plasma are found. Though the assumption of retaining the swept gas is not made, the results are very close to those of the “snow-plough” model.
