Abstract

This paper applies the continued fraction technique previously derived to a model Hamiltonian used to model structural phase transitions. The application is valid in the low temperature limit, and takes advantage of the random phase approximation. The result is quantum mechanical, and it successfully accounts for the displacive transitions in a lattice.
