Abstract

A scheme for the weak interactions is outlined in which the intermediate bosons W are spinless. The model possesses anSU3 symmetry with nine bosons belonging to a sextet and triplet representation. The absence of ΔT=3/2 and ΔY=2 nonleptonic processes is a natural consequence of the form of the interaction. The second-order Lagrangian that arises from interchange of the bosons consists of two parts. One of these is the coupling of a charged current to its Hermitian conjugate, as in the usual theory, and the other is the coupling of twoneutral V — A currents to each other, one of which has the property that its vector part is the electromagnetic current.
