Abstract
We propose a model to describe the polarization of Λ° in inclusive proton-proton collisions at high energy. The model is based on the fusion between the spectator quarks and the strange quark that is scattered from the sea of the target proton. The polarization of Λ° is essentially governed by the interference between the nonperturbed quark-quark scattering amplitude and the perturbative one-gluon exchange term. It is found that the model can well describe both the polarization and the cross section of Λ° in pp collisions at high energies.
