Abstract

The local magnetic properties of γ-FeNi alloys are measured by means of the57Fe Mossbauer effect. The hyperfine field distribution is interpreted by the model presented in [1]. The characteristic shape of the hyperfine field distribution gives an experimental evidence for the existence of parallel, antiparallel and frustrated magnetic moments in these alloys. The reason of the magnetic abnormalies and of the Invar behaviour is discussed.
