Abstract

An analytical treatment has been developed to calculate the diffusive release of fission gas in high-temperature annealing experiments. This model is based on a more general approach for treating the previous irradiation conditions. A square-root to linear dependence on the anneal time is predicted for the release fraction depending on whether the fuel samples are trace-irradiated or from high-burnup commercial rods.
