Abstract

Modal analysis of high-speed rotor is a key issue in high-speed electrical machine design. In this paper, a modal analysis method is presented for a magnetically suspended turbomolecular pump (MSTMP) rotor assembly with separable thrust disk. The natural frequency and mode shape of the rotor assembly without thrust disk are calculated by using transfer matrix method (TMM) considering the actual assembly relationship. The modal analysis results are validated by finite element method (FEM) and a new modal test method. The influence of separable thrust disk on modal results is analyzed by the proposed method and verified by modal test experiments.
