Abstract

Computer networks are dramatically extending all over the world. They have diverse topologies and benefit from various technologies. They can also support users with different types of services. Nevertheless, all of them have an ultimate purpose in common. They should satisfy their users with high-quality services. To achieve this goal, Quality of service (QoS) solutions are required. However, they are not enough. QoS solutions consider quality as a pure technical issue, while we have to look at quality from a user's point of view. Quality of experience (QoE) is the thing which can help us with this issue. If we use QoS techniques in relation to the QoE solutions, then it is possible to provide an adequate level of quality for the users. To do so, we need a framework. We should design this framework with respect to the correlation between QoS and QoE. The proposed QoE framework in this paper has a connection with a dynamic QoS provisioning system for network mobility. It also uses a quantitative relationship between QoS and QoE. Through this framework, we can collect data about mobility users' experiences, analyze them, and then calculate the value of contributing QoS factors for related QoE parameters. Finally, we try to improve the QoS solutions according to QoE requirements.
