Abstract

Nowadays, remote control of instrumentation and remote measurement techniques represent a particularly interesting topic. Mature technologies are able to fully control devices and, in particular, help in remote measurement processes and calibrations. Now the attention is moved to other questions, such as resource consumption, network availability, client-server communication link etc. The mobile agents technology is capable of providing interesting solutions to the aforementioned problems and an investigation concerning the possibility to migrate this technology to the measurement world is advisable. This paper reports some preliminary considerations and examples of application about this interesting issue
