Abstract
This paper presents a mixed-EHL analysis of effects of misalignments and elastic deformations on the performance of a coupled journal-thrust bearing system. Two types of misalignment (axial and twisting) are considered. The JFO's mass conserving cavitation conditions are applied to the governing Reynolds equations. The performance of a typical coupled journal-thrust bearing system is numerically studied and the effects of elastic deformations and misalignments are investigated.
