Abstract

Besides the slow-wave factor and attenuation, the dispersion characteristic is another important factor for evaluating the quality of the slow-wave transmission line. A novel slow-wave structure based on this mixed lattice topology is proposed. Due to the complementary dispersions of the lattice and pi-shaped topology, the phase characteristic of the proposed structure can be well controlled by varying the proportional ratio of lattice to pi-shaped part. As a result, the proposed structure exhibits not only a low insertion loss, a larger slow-wave factor, but also a linear phase response.
