Abstract

A multiwavelength common user millimeter/submillimeter receiver which is now in operation on the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope (JCMT) on Mauna Kea, Hawaii is described. It is a single-channel photometer employing a composite germanium bolometric detector cooled by helium-3 to 0.35 K. The receiver has a set of bandpass filters allowing observations to be made in all of the atmospheric transmission windows between 350 microns and 2 mm.
