Abstract

A method of double-frequency modulation suitable for long-distance transmission of multichannel signals by means of radio-relay stations is described. Propagation, radio-frequency bandwidth, and radio-frequency power are discussed briefly. The signal-to-noise ratio and distortion of the system are shown by theory and experiment. An experimental circuit between Philadelphia and New York is described and the results are given.
