Abstract

A microstrip (MS) grid array antenna (GAA) is designed for 60-GHz applications. The GAA adopts four sub arrays as the radiator and quarter-wave matched T-junctions as the feeding network. Ferro A6M low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) is used as the antenna substrate. Measured results show that the impedance bandwidth (BW) of the GAA is 57.5-62 GHz (or 7.5% at 60 GHz), the 3-dB gain BW is 57.5-65 GHz (or 12.5 %) with the maximum gain 16.5 dBi at 60.7 GHz, vertical beams appear in broadside direction from 57 to 64 GHz, which agree well with simulated ones.
