Abstract

The paper deals with the design strategy of a real-time multitasking executive for micropr o cessor-based process control. Process coordination is achieved by means of synchronazing primitives in terms of SEND and RECEIVE functions. The mechanisms used in Opera t ing system on mini and large computer systems are discussed and their implementation in microprocessor environment is emphatized. The different implementation of critical regions, taking into account the duration of their execution time, and the design strategy of an on-line command decoder are analyzed in details.
