Abstract

The design of a microprocessor controller for a personal typewriter for the visually handicapped is outlined. The controller is interfaced to an electronic or electronic-mechanical typewriter with a golf-ball or daisy-wheel print head, and uses the correcting feature to produce a personal typewriter for the visually handicapped; this enables, at minimal cost, the production by the visually handicapped user of typewritten text which is error-free and of good layout without the intervention of sighted help.
