Abstract
This article attempts to sketch a model of Micronesian information system with two purposes in mind. First, based on this model, an actual system can be developed in the Micronesian region in the near future. Second, the description of the model also illustrates how a theoretical information model can be applied to the real world. With this in mind, the sketched model certainly can be modified for developing information systems to serve remote islands or locations in other geographic regions. © 1992 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
