Abstract
Digital twins are one of the strategic directions of information technology development in today's digitalization environment. This article presents the key technologies and trends that led to the emergence of Digital Twin. The aim of the study was to develop a methodological approach for the design and implementation of digital twins in industry, involving the creation of XLM-scheme architecture of the digital twin, integrating various software systems into a single system. The authors have given a refined definition of the concept of a digital twin, the application of which will allow to extract the necessary information from various databases and to generate informational benefit by purposeful integration and linking of data in the Digital Twin. The result of the study is the developed concept of the method of representation of the digital twin options, based on the theory of the new industrial society and the shift of industrial paradigms. The advantage of the concept for industry in this article is emphasized by organizing the work with big data, which are integrated in the digital twin. The results generated will contribute to scientific research aimed at implementing digital manufacturing programs that can lead to industrial leadership in global markets.
