Abstract

AbstractIn this letter, a planar inverted‐F antenna with a slot on a ground is proposed to improve the antenna radiation efficiency at the CDMA band of 824–894 MHz. In this configuration, the electric fields are more confined to the inverted‐F section and the end‐point of the ground. The measured results show that the radiation efficiencies of the proposed antenna are improved by up to 16.8% and that the radiation patterns are similar to those of the antenna without a slot. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
