Abstract

Bus and subway are two major forms of public transportation system in large cities. The failure of subway lines would cause great effects to the related bus lines. Evaluate the bus lines' sharing influence to subway lines would provide theoretical basis and support to the emergency rescue measures when faced with subway line failures. Based on bipartite graph model, the original bus line network is modeled as well as the bus station network. The subway stations are divided into different groups based on the grey clustering classification method and the attraction area of different groups is determined. The sharing influence coefficient of bus lines to subway lines is defined and the mathematical model is built. An example of the Shanghai Subway Line 1 is analyzed in the last. The results show that the sharing influence coefficient is inversely related with the starting interval of bus lines, the load factor of buses and the time cost of passengers, but is directly related with the numbers of bus lines in the attraction area of the subway stations.
